Before airlines became non-smoking, I had recommended an alternative solution; airlines could offer "Smoking" seats; they would remove the drop-down oxygen masks (since smokers choose to face cancer each day, they don't need safety equipment) and replace them with "smoking" masks, and the airlines could collect smoke from Raleigh, Winston-Salem, and Richmond airport smoking rooms, and the smokers on the airplane would have a switch to select which smoke to inhale during the flight.
