The button background is the chip the was in the Amdahl machine. It was Amdahl's response to IBM's water cooling. The tower on the chip is a heat sink. Air was blown over these heat sinks to dissipate the heat. It was a tower about three-quarters of an inch high with three disks spaced out at the top.The Amdahl 470 was first delivered in 1975.
